NYCS Trainings in Karas and Hardap

July and August have been busy months for JA Namibia's NYCS staff! As the implementing agency for Namibia Youth Credit Scheme (NYCS) in Karas and Hardap Regions, JA Namibia has been conducting basic business skills trainings in the two southern regions.

In July, JA Namibia's NYCS team conducted trainings in three towns in Karas Region--Luderitz, Rosh Pinah, and Keetmanshoop. Training is still underway in Hardap Region, with workshops held in Mariental, Aranos, and Rehoboth.

So far, JA Namibia has trained over 100 people in the new intake of NYCS beneficiaries. Upon completing the training, a five day workshop covering a range of entrepreneurial topics such as marketing; business ideas; costing and pricing; cash flow planning; record keeping; and business planning, beneficiaries can applied for small loans to be used as starting capital for their businesses.

The trainings have been very warmly received by beneficiaries in each of the towns. One beneficiary from Keetmanshoop summed up this feeling nicely:

“I love everything that we really did and learned. Thanks to you guys that I’m even stronger than before”
